Novices ‘Thai’ it and they like it

Whether you are a Thai food aficionado or a novice, My Thai Palace offers an authentic and diverse Asian food menu that will have you craving more. From the moment you walk into this former “doughnut shop location,” you are warmly welcomed and transported into a rich culture of food and hospitality.

As Thai food novices, my dining companion and I decided on lunch, entering the restaurant with an open mind and a sense of adventure.

Immediately greeted by a host, we were escorted to our table. The furnishings are simple, yet quaint and very comfortable. Our server was at our table in minutes and was eager to take us on a journey of Thai cuisine. The restaurant offers a great “lunch special” that provides a solid introduction to this very popular Asian cuisine.
An appetizer of hot and sour soup, fresh spring roll followed by chicken pad thai ($9.95) proved to be the ideal introduction into the spices and unique flavours of Thai cuisine. The order was delivered with the freshest of ingredients and obvious care taken into the preparation.

My companion ordered the seafood salad ($10.95) known as yum talay. It is an inviting mixture of tiger shrimp, squid, mussels and crabsticks, tossed with onion, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, lettuce, in a savory vinaigrette dressing.  Adhering to a “heart healthy” diet regime, dressing was on the side.

Fear not, all diets can be accommodated at My Thai Palace.

Our dishes were delivered in a timely manner, respectful of the lunch-time patron with the utmost of care and concern for our culinary experience.

The owner visited each of the tables to welcome guests to the restaurant and provide us with the opportunity to comment on the dining experience. What a novel idea. Ask customers about their lunch and encourage them to return to the establishment.  There are plenty of restaurants in Greater Sudbury that could take a page from this book.
Would we return? We absolutely will. Next time, it will be dinner or takeout from the extensive menu of traditional Thai dishes.

My Thai Palace offers a mix of spicy and not so spicy fare, stir-fry dishes and vegetarian food. You can enjoy the finest genuine Thai dishes at affordable prices in an exotic and comfortable atmosphere.
