Sudbury brides and grooms are getting married in movie theatres, bowling alleys, on the beach, and even on the 18th hole. Wedding officiants and some church ministers are very accommodating.
A favourite location for Sudbury ceremonies is Bell Park. The Grace Hartman Amphitheatre features fixed seating for 561 people and grass seating for an additional 1,400. There is a sound and lighting system and a covered stage. The Katherine Bell Gazebo, which has a large decked area and a grand view of Lake Ramsey, is a very popular venue. The gazebo can accommodate 200 guests on the deck.
Weddings can also be arranged with the city to be held at the William Bell Gazebo near the main beach at Bell Park. It has seating for 100 inside and an additional 300 on the grounds.
The Copper Cliff Gazebo, which is across from Bryston’s, and the Coniston Gazebo are other favourite locations for outdoor ceremonies. Nuptuals can be also be arranged at Memorial Park or Moonlight Beach.
Couples should book their dates well in advance and they need to confirm the booking by signing a facility agreement and schedule that sets out terms of usage. A food service permit from the Sudbury & District Health Unit is required.
